Oasis artists to exhibit at Art on The Island
Seven artists from the Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort will be exhibiting more than 20 of their paintings at Art on The Island which forms part of the Century City Natural Goods Market on Sunday 30 November.
Celia Mostert, who is the Oasis co-ordinator of the event, said most of the artists would be exhibiting paintings but at least one would be showing pen and ink drawings.
The exhibition will take place on Intaka Island from 9am until 2pm. Entrance is free of charge.
There will also be a number of other craft exhibitors from décor items to hand made cushions and cards on Intaka Island adding to the extensive offering of the Natural Goods Market stalls on Central Park.
In fact with less than a month to go before Christmas, the popular Century City Natural Goods Market is the perfect place to get stuck into some serious seasonal shopping – but in a thoroughly entertaining way.
As always there will be fantastic food, gorgeous gifts and great entertainment for small people, and big ones too.
Cape Town’s ‘bird man’, Martin Odd and his feathered friends – Christina the Macaw Parrot and Lady Jane the Harris Hawk – have been pressed into service at the market to entertain and educate young and old with the Birds of Africa Show.
Blues band Mothercity Mojo will also deliver a magic performance to entertain market goers with their rootsie instrumentation and rich rhythms.
While there’s an entertaining menu for visitors, the market gives shoppers time to celebrate the bright side of life with a glass of organic bubbly while browsing around the great selection of quality products and delicious food, kept cool and safe under Bedouin stretch tents.
You can choose from healthy gourmet meals, curries, samoosas, wraps, smoked fish, biltong, pies, vegetarian, cheeses, beer, champagne, wine, specialty coffees, tea, cakes, cookies, preserves, olives, freshly baked farm breads, confectionary, jams, freshly squeezed juice and smoothies and more.
If you are looking for original gifts, there will be stalls selling crafts and clothing at reasonable prices, or you can spoil yourself with fabulous natural body care products and jewelry.
The on-site clubhouse has seating facilities, and offers coffee, tea and a bar. Visitors can also enjoy boat trips from Intaka Island to Canal Walk.
