Oasis Sold Out!

The Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort in Century City has proved to be a runaway success with all 375 apartments in the six high rise blocks having been sold six months ahead of the last block being completed.

Colin Green of Rabie, which has been developing Oasis in a joint venture with a Harries Projects consortium, said there was no doubt that much of  Oasis’ success was due to the fact that it falls within the Century City mixed use development offering residents almost every conceivable amenity right on their doorstep.

“It also offers a wide range of its own lifestyle components for residents including a Club House, the facilities of which would not be out of place in a five star hotel and which all residents automatically enjoy membership of.’’

These facilities include a 25m indoor heated pool where regular water aerobics classes are given by a qualified teacher, a massage room, sauna, steam room, a gym, a library, lounge areas, a restaurant, bar, a bridge room and billiard room.

In addition, there are a number of other facilities for residents outside the Clubhouse including a large, multi-function venue with a big screen TV and coffee bar and large undercover patio overlooking a scenic lake, an arts studio where residents can paint as well as another well-appointed lounge where residents can relax.

A range of activities and functions to cater for different interest groups are also held regularly and regular outings to wine farms, the theatre and the like are laid on. The resort is set  in beautifully landscaped gardens which also include a flowing stream and water features and even a vegetable garden where residents can grow their own vegetables and herbs.

Peace of mind for residents is also provided by the Oasis Care Centre which offers hotel-style assisted living apartments, frail care and a specialised Alzheimer’s/Dementia unit as well as physical rehabilitation for those in need.

Green said due to the huge success of Oasis and the continued demand for retirement homes in Century City, they were exploring including a retirement product in the redevelopment of the Ratanga site which they hoped to bring to the market late 2018 early 2019.

Palme Vue launch best ever for Oasis!

Half of the 42 apartments in Palme Vue, the sixth and final block in the Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort at Century City, were sold at the launch in early May.

“We have never seen such a rush on sales for a retirement product at a launch,” says Colin Green, a director of Rabie Property Group which is developing Oasis in a joint venture with a Harries Projects consortium.

“There is no doubt  the fact it is the last opportunity buyers have to purchase directly from the developer has created an unprecedented level of urgency.”

The 11-storey building, comprising 42 one, two and three bedroom apartments, is being developed at a cost of R270 million.

It follows the success of Palm Brook, the fifth block in the resort currently under construction where 47 of the 52 apartments have been sold seven months ahead of completion.

Green said Palme Vue would comprise fewer but on average larger apartments than what had been offered in previous blocks to meet strong demand for even more spacious units.

Apartments, which range in size from 94 square metres to 247 square metres, including terraces, are priced from R3, 4million to just over R10million, VAT inclusive. No transfer duty is payable.

All the apartments have terraces or balconies ranging in size from 19 square metres to 77 square metres.

All apartments will have luxury finishes and a minimum of one basement parking. Many will also have a second bay and a storeroom included in the price.

As with the three most recent blocks (Palme d’Or, Palm Royale and Palm Brook), Palme Vue will be linked to the extensive Oasis Club facilities by an undercover passage. A satellite recreational room is also planned to add to the communal facilities for Oasis residents and their guests in the new garden court

Palme Vue will be served by two lifts and have a 24-hour dedicated concierge at the entrance lobby.

Construction is due to start in June/July this year with transfer anticipated in the third quarter of 2018.

Final apartment block in Oasis Retirement Resort now launching

Palme Vue, the sixth and final block of apartments in the Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort at Century City, will be launched on 11 May at the Oasis Club.

The 11-storey building comprising 42 one, two and three bedroom apartments is being developed in a joint venture by the Rabie Property Group and a Harries Projects consortium at a cost of R270 million.

It follows the success of Palm Brook, the fifth block in the resort currently under construction where 44 of the 52 apartments have been sold seven months ahead of completion.

Rabie director Colin Green said Palme Vue would comprise fewer but on average larger apartments than what had been offered in previous blocks to meet strong demand for even more spacious units.

Apartments, which range in size from 94 square metres to 247 square metres, including terraces, are priced from R3, 4 million to R9 950 000, VAT inclusive. No transfer duty is payable.

There are three penthouses and two garden apartments, the latter of which will have exclusive use areas fronting on to a large expanse of water and the magnificently landscaped communal gardens.

A satellite recreational room is also planned to add to the communal facilities for Oasis residents and their guests in the new garden court.

Palme Vue will be served by two lifts and have a 24-hour dedicated concierge at the entrance lobby.

Construction is due to start in May / June this year with transfer anticipated in the third quarter of 2018.

Colin Green, a director of Rabie, said that as they were now nearing the end of the development phase of Oasis Retirement Resort, pre-launch interest in the last block had been very strong as people realise that this is their last opportunity to acquire a luxury apartment directly from the developer.

“In fact we have more potential buyers on the waiting list than we have apartments available so we are expecting sales to be brisk,” said Green.

The resort includes a magnificent club house which is currently being extended and which boasts among other things a restaurant and bar, a 25m indoor heated pool,  a massage room, sauna, steam room, gym, a library, lounge areas, a bridge room, billiard room, an art studio and an additional multi-purpose recreational/entertainment venue with a coffee bar and a covered patio overlooking a picturesque pond and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Also completed in phase one is the 110 bed Oasis Care Centre which offers hotel-style assisted living apartments, frail care and a specialised Alzheimer’s/Dementia unit as well as physical rehabilitation. Currently under construction is the Oasis Medical Support Centre which will provide homecare staff and administration facilities as well as a doctors’ surgery and as such will significantly expand the level of care services on offer at Oasis.

Green said besides all the exceptional facilities provided at Oasis, its location in Century City which is also home to other world class amenities including Intaka Island wetlands reserveCanal Walk Shopping Centre and the MyCiTi bus service, all added to its appeal as did the well managed precinct’s high quality of safety and security and modern infrastructure.

Palme Vue will be launched at a function at the Oasis Club on May 11. To secure an invitation to the launch and to be added to the waiting list, phone Cindy on 082 4957168; Lorenda on 0832704755 or Linda on 0827856160 or visit the website www.oasisretirementresort.co.za

New and expanded facilities nearing completion

Construction of both the Clubhouse extension and the new Oasis Medical Support Centre are due for completion at the end of May with both expected to be operational in early June.

The double storey Oasis Medical Support Centre, which will provide homecare staff and administration facilities as well as a doctors’ surgery, will significantly expand the level of care services on offer at Oasis.

The Homecare service, which is run and operated by the Oasis Care Centre, offers residents who are not yet ready for assisted living or frail care, but require assistance, to hire home-based care services according to their requirements.

Oasis Care Centre has an attending doctor whose practice has expanded to include a second doctor. As well as providing services at the Care Centre they will be based in the new consulting rooms at the entrance to Oasis which makes them easily accessible to residents.

The Oasis Medical Support Centre is being developed by the developer, the Oasis Joint Venture, at a cost of around R2,5 million.

Meanwhile the R3,8 million extension to the Club house which will significantly increase the capacity of the dining room, kitchen and lounge is also scheduled for completion at the end of May.

Final block in Oasis Resort launches May 11

Palme Vue, the sixth and final block of apartments in our beautiful Oasis Retirement Resort, will be launched at a function on 11 May.

The 11-storey building will comprise 42 one, two and three bedroom apartments which range in size from 94 square metres to 247 square metres, including terraces and which are priced from R3,4 million, VAT inclusive. No transfer duty is payable.

Strong pre-launch interest has been expressed and we currently have more names on the waiting list of potential buyers than there are apartments available. If you or anyone else you know is keen to buy, be sure to contact the sales office to ensure you are added to the waiting list and invited to the launch to avoid disappointment.

Palme d’Or sold out!

Palme d’Or, the fourth luxury apartment block in the Oasis Retirement Resort at Century City, has been sold out five months ahead of completion!

The last two of the 50 apartments in the 11 storey building were sold in the past week bringing the total value of sales in the building to over R220million.

Owen Futeran, a director of the Oasis Joint Venture, which comprises the Rabie Property Group and a Harries Projects consortium, said selling out ahead of completion was virtually unheard of for a retirement development.

“It is really testament to the high quality of the resort and all it offers in terms of facilities including a 110-bed Care Centre and a Club House that includes a 25m indoor heated pool where regular water aerobics classes are conducted by a qualified teacher, a massage room, sauna, steam room, a gym, a library, lounge areas, a restaurant, bar, bridge room, billiard room and a new, large multi-purpose recreational/entertainment venue and coffee bar with a patio overlooking ponds and beautiful landscaped gardens.”

Futeran said with all developer units having been sold at Oasis they were accelerating plans for the fifth block in the development and expected this to be launched early in April and construction scheduled to get underway in June.

“Strong pre-interest has already been shown in the next block and other interested parties should contact us to get their names on the invite list to the launch so as to avoid disappointment.”

He said resales at Oasis were also going strongly.

“We recently closed three resales in one week and one more since then resales are currently awaiting transfer. They consist of a mix of one, two and three bed-roomed units and the total value of those sales is R18 050 000.”

4th luxury block in Oasis Retirement Resort tops out

Construction of the 11-storey Palme d’Or, the fourth luxury apartment block in the Oasis Luxury Retirement Resort in Century City, has topped out with building on schedule for practical completion in June 2016.

With 10 months still to go, 40 of the 50 apartments have already been sold for a total consideration of over R175million representing 80% of both the number of units and the total sales value.

Owen Futeran, a director of the Oasis Joint Venture, which comprises the Rabie Property Group and a Harries Projects consortium, said this was highly unusual for a retirement product.

“The tempo of sales has picked up tremendously in recent years since buyers have been able to see the high quality of what we are developing in terms of the apartments and what has been developed to date in terms of the communal facilities including the Club House and the 110-bed Care Centre.”

He said resales at Oasis were also very buoyant with 12 apartments having been resold so far in 2015 for a total consideration of around R35million.

“After the deduction of agent’s commission this represents a capital growth of more than R7million for buyers with around 20% of this profit being paid over to the Levy Stabilisation Fund.”

In fact, he said, since 2010 there had been 38 resales totaling R120 million and representing a gross profit of more than R26million with a total contribution of more than R5million to the Levy Stabilisation Fund.

“The number of resales has been escalating as the Resort grows and matures and correctly priced apartments are selling relatively quickly and good capital growth.”

The remaining 10 apartments at Palme d’Or comprise one one bed, four two bed and five three bedroom units. These range in size from 97 square metres to 182 square metres and in price from R2 905 000 to R6 005 000.

All apartments boast quality finishes and air conditioning while most have utility rooms and the one bedroom apartment has a study.

All apartments will have at least one basement parking and most of them will also have a store-room included in the price.

Palme d’Or will be serviced by two lifts and a 24 hour dedicated concierge.

Palme d’Or will be linked undercover to the Oasis Club, the facilities of which include a 25m indoor heated pool where regular water aerobics classes are given by a qualified teacher, a massage room, sauna, steam room, a gym, a library, lounge areas, a restaurant, bar, bridge room, billiard room and a new, large multi-purpose recreational/entertainment venue and very popular coffee bar with a patio overlooking ponds and beautiful landscaped gardens.
